Europe

Camellias  came  to England  and Portugal in the Eighteenth century. In the Nineteenth Century, they spread to almost all Europe, becoming an icon of beauty and luxury.

Europe features many gardens of excellence and the largest number of regional societies. Southern European countries, which enjoy a mild climate, can cultivate outdoor almost all varieties and species, as the varieties and hybrids of Camellia sasanqua and of yellow camellias. In turn, the hardier Camellia japonica and Saluenensis hybrids thrive also in England and even in Norway.
