Camellias came early to United States and become popular in Southern States of USA, as Carolina, Louisiana, etc.; they have reached an even higher popularity on the West Coast, where they enjoy a variety of climates, ranging from the almost tropical California to the temperate weather of Seattle, Washington. Camellias are also in South America, as in Petropolis (Brazil), where they were introduced in the Eighteenth Century, and in Argentina.
